1) Lots of existing FE materials exist, someone needs to negotiate licensing agreements.

2) Conference organizers like Tom Valone contract with independent AV people who then maintain the copyright.  Someone should approach potential organizers in other orgs about having PES AV specialists do their next taping.  PES people need to have portable commercial grade AV equipment ready to do the job.  And, of course, compensation plans should be internally worked-out.  A major benefit is we'd be in control of the AV quality and price.  And, we'd have no 3rd party negotiation hassles.  The AV stuff I've seen from other AV vendors has been very poor, splices/dropouts/interruptions abound in conference taping, especially when audience viewers interfere with the camera view and accidentally unplug things!

Equipment suggested:

      - online UPS (I use Liebert and APSI MIL-SPEC)
      - mass duplicator for CDs (CSC should do)
      - CD label printer (Premia should do)
      - high-end cameras (3 CCD preferred) to include lltv for poor lighting
      - portable lighting (preferably cold)
      - boom/parabolic mic, wireless mics, etc.
      - multi-track AV recorder or cctv time-lapse hard drive unit (preferred)
see SuperCircuits catalog for nice portable stuff

Poor Man's Guide to Wind and Battery Power

ADVISORY: With any technology, you take a high risk to invest significant time or money unless (1) independent testing has thoroughly corroborated the technology, (2) the group involved has intellectual rights to the technology, and (3) the group has the ability to make a success of the endeavor.
Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

of the crowd you're a genius.
When you're two steps ahead,
you're a crackpot."
