Ken Rauen Gives Examples of Violations of 2nd Law of Thermodynamics
Speaking at the New Energy Conference in Portland, Sept. 26, 2004,
Rauen reviews the research he has done and the mathematical proofs he has
composed that show violations of science's "cardinal" 2nd law of
thermodynamics.

Ken Rauen gave a presentation on the commercial potential of water born
fusion and heat engine research. He began by describing his work with the late
cold fusion researcher Gene Mallove.
Rauen said their research funding was cut off after the terrorist events on
September 11, 2001. He was laid off and their lab was closed. He continued to
work in Malloves basement. It was their goal to get cold fusion beyond
publications and into the marketplace.
He mentioned that most of the work in cold fusion involves the release of energy
when Hydrogen in the form of heavy water is converted to Helium, or water born
fusion. He also discussed some of the other related research. Sonofusion uses
ultrasonic cavitations, which evolved from ultrasonic jewelry cleaners. Prof.
John Dash, who was also at the conference and had a working cold fusion
demonstration on display, is using electrolysis with titanium to get small
amount of excess heat. Rauen also talked about Letts/Cravenss laser pumped
electrolysis methods and Mitchell Swartzs JET process. He claimed that we may
have the electrolytic process licked.
Other cold fusion processes are not water based. For example, Rauen mentioned
Les Case, who works with gas and a catalytic process. He also talked about Roger
Stringham, who uses high pressure sound waves. Stringham has burned and melted
palladium at over 3000 degrees. Another method uses pairs of piezoelectric
stacks in heavy water. At 20,000 cycles per second, it creates cavitation
bubbles which can boil water. Rauen also mentioned that it can create a central
plume of plasma down the middle at 1/10th the speed of light. He reports a 30 to
1 overunity ratio with piezoelectric sonoluminescence. The higher the power you
put in, the more you get out.
The second part of Rauens presentation dealt with the exceptions to the 2nd
Law of Thermodynamics. Rauen stated that Mallove believed in 1) cold fusion, 2)
Correa aether technology, and 3) his (Rauens) work on thermodynamics.
Rauen gave a brief history of how the laws of thermodynamics came about. He
talked about Sadi Carnot, who was one of the early researchers of heat theory in
1824. Also, the works of James Joule in 1850 and Rudolf Klausius in 1860 were
described as the originators of the 1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics.
Rauen summarized his work on the limitations of classical thermodynamics based
on the kinetic theory of heat. He has nine mathematical proofs that the 2nd Law
of Thermodynamics can be violated and that Carnot limits can be exceeded. He
stated that his work was carefully reviewed by a well-known professor who found
no flaws in it, although it goes against what he has been teaching for 20 years.
Rauen mentioned a book by Wayne Proell and the Proell effect where heat energy
can be transferred from low to high without input. He also talked about the
Stirling engine and how it works.
Next, he discussed devices he has made which seem to show that the laws of
thermodynamics need to be revised. He described how he made heat engines which
can be self-refrigerating or self-heating. Using PVC pipe, steel wool, and
coffee stirrers, he was able to verify the Proell effect. He also has built cold
engines which gets cold instead of hot when it runs. He claims he has come
close to obtaining liquid nitrogen temperatures using a super-classical
cycle.
He concluded his presentation by stating that heat is a perpetual form of
energy, and the 2nd Law has never been proven to be universal.
Later, during the panel discussion, Rauen gave the attendees some hope that free
energy can come about and make a planetary difference is a short time by
reminding everyone that we went from the horse and buggy days to the worldwide
use of automobiles in only one generation.
We need to get rid of a scarcity paradigm to one of abundance. Nature does give
us something for free.
