Bowman Magnet Motor Open Sourcing Project

Status: Project commenced Dec. 2003 with Doug Mann's claim to a working device, which ended up running down due to demagnetization after three months of continuous running.  Robert Calloway also claims to have accomplished rotation.  Several other replications were made, but none of those achieved running mode.  On July 31, 2005, the son of Lee Bowman contacted us.  See report.

Open Sourcing the Bowman Permanent Magnet Motor

Douglas A. Mann built a Bowman magnetic motor that worked for about three months before it ran down due to the demagnetization of the magnets.  Some speculate that a different orientation that doesn't stress the magnets as much might work better.  Plans for the device are presented here.  It is relatively easy to build and relatively inexpensive.  No one has yet been able to replicate a working device.
