Bowman Magnet Motor Open Sourcing Project

Status: Project commenced Dec. 2003 with claim to a working device, which later, after three months, ended up running down due to demagnetization.  No replications were accomplished though several were attempted.

Subject: [PES_BMM] Let's partition our specialties on the Bowman open sourcing project

To: Bowman Magnetic Motor replication group
Cc: PES programmers

I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to keep the BMM site up to date with all the good information that is flowing through this list.

We need to have some volunteers step forward to specialize in certain tasks.

- Keep "updates" page complete with most relevant info.
- Keep "Instructions" pages concise and updated.
- Keep "materials sourcing" information updated
- Keep the FAQ page updated and clearly written
- Maintain the "Related Links".
- Keep "images" information updated and prioritized with most helpful info first.
- Keep "replications in progress" individual's pages up to date (ideally each individual with such a page should have a hand in their own page)
- Handle all discussion list admin matters such as adding new members.  Keep the "Personnel" listing on the site in sync with the membership of the discussion list.  Keep the "Personnel" page updated listing those who are furthest along first.
- Keep the "follow-up" page(s) updated.
- Keep a compilation of "to do" prioritized items for Doug Mann's attention, that he can bookmark and see what the latest questions and requests are.
- Keep the "gauss meter & calibration" info updated and clear.
- Maintain Theory, Extrapolations and Speculations pages [eg].

Who of you can help with this?  Please let me know (don't need to do it through the list).

Eventually it would be good to have one person per task when this page goes public.

We also need a project coordinator.  Volunteers accepted.  An election may happen.  Or an appointment.  A salaried position is planned when PES funding comes through.

I'm serving in that position right now, but need to turn it over to someone else so I can address the other demands on my time with the start-up of PES.

Until we get on a server and program where we can have multiple authors (hopefully this week?), you will need up update and then send me the document to post.

I'm using FP2000, so if any of you are also using FP you could help me even now.  (Nathan Hampton?

As new and useful information comes through the list I try to keep the site updated with that info.

Some pages (especially the individual replications pages) could be condensed, eliminating some of the irrelevant dialogue.

We will probably commence a new discussion list to handle communications regarding the maintenance of the site.
