Ken Hegemann's MXLO Magnetic Motor replicationMXLO Magnet Motor Open Sourcing Project

Summary: This open sourcing project sponsored by Pure Energy Systems, based on a design by MXLO, commenced Mar. 3, 2004 and was active for about a month.  At least 14 (8 verified) replications were built, none of which worked, proving that MXLO plans are neither easy nor complete, contrary to what they insinuate on their site, which now redirects to the U.S. government's renewable energy site. On July 10, a hint about shielding was given that was not contained in the plans.

Sterling:

I spent a couple hours brainstorming the MXLO possibilities with an energy [colleague] yesterday. We came up with some interesting ideas....

First, the device produces power at a higher DC voltage that most solar/alternative energy systems can accommodate. However, the output is close to ideal for a grid-intertie system. If we can get the output voltage up to 300 +/- volts DC, we can connect the output from a single or multiple devices to a grid interconnected power inverter and pump the power back into the utility company grid. This effectively turns the power meter backward and reduces your power bill each month by cancelling out your usage. The utility company will not approve of it but there is little that they can do as long as we are routing the generated power through a UL listed grid-intertie inverter. In it's present form, the MXLO device is well suited to grid connection. If enough of the devices are connected in parallel, it would be possible to completely zero out one's power bill. The devices would pay for themselves in no more than two years. We are prepared to acquire a grid-intertie inverter and test a MXLO device on our home to gauge it's performance and ability to pump power back into the grid.

The second application is water pumping. Grundfos pump company has recently produced an innovative pump that will operate on 30 - 300 vdc. The MXLO device could easily power this family of water pumps. In rural America, the market for this is off the charts. The first thing that quits when the power goes off in the country is the water. Without water, it's difficult to function. I have already spoken with an off grid client who has offered his property as a test site for the MXLO device coupled to a Grundfos SQ-flex water pump. If we can make it work, "Katie, bar the door".

The market potential for these devices (if the replications are successful) is HUGE. As I stated yesterday, we believe the MXLO concept his fundamentally superior to the B** motor in it's multifunctionality and simplicity. It appears possible to multiplex the devices to increase output within a relatively small space. I find it ironic that after all the ballyhoo about B** over the past several years, a simple/functional device such as this could easily eclipse B**'s accomplishment.

I have made initial overtures to our Chinese magnetic materials source and a PM generator manufacturer. I believe that they will be our best source for a mass produced version of the device after it has been through two or three design iterations to improve performance and longevity.

You wanted a project to kick off PES. You now have one worthy of everyone's attention and effort.

Best Regards,

[R. Engineer]

Subject: Re: MXLO viability...

Sterling:

Have had more time to think about the ramifications of the MXLO project (assuming it is a viable device).  We know it can be adapted to charge batteries and provide usable AC power through an inverter with a modified solar charge controller.  Electricity is an important component of modern day life.  The other necessary component is a sustainable heat source.  While I haven't yet done the math, the same MXLO device could easily power a rudimentary hydrogen generator 24/7 and produce a usable/burnable gas as a combustible heat alternative to NG/LP.  This realization closes the loop on the viability of the device.  Electrical energy and heat energy (from hydrogen) will sustain the American lifestyle we are so accustomed to.

How many MXLO devices would be necessary to generate sufficient hydrogen to support a single family residence?  Don't know yet, but I will inquire and get an answer.   The www.hydrogenappliances.com website is a good resource for this inf..  For years, this website has offered plans for a do-it-yourself hydrogen generator.  If they are no longer available, there is doubtless several other sites on the net that offer such inf. - I just haven't taken the time to look yet.

As soon as we get a few successful replications, I believe it is important to construct an MXLO powered hydrogen generator and see how much hydrogen we can produce.  I believe it will be relatively easy to construct a do-it-yourself energy system which encompasses both electricity and hydrogen for life sustenance.

We've opened Pandora's box....
