Ken Hegemann's MXLO Magnetic Motor replicationMXLO Magnet Motor Open Sourcing Project

Summary: This open sourcing project sponsored by Pure Energy Systems, based on a design by MXLO, commenced Mar. 3, 2004 and was active for about a month.  At least 14 (8 verified) replications were built, none of which worked, proving that MXLO plans are neither easy nor complete, contrary to what they insinuate on their site, which now redirects to the U.S. government's renewable energy site. On July 10, a hint about shielding was given that was not contained in the plans.

I don't have a digital camera so I used my wifey's video camera.

I put the wmv in the files area. Sorry if it's too big.

Tinkering with the thing gets rotor motion but never anything like a
real unassisted cycle.  Obviously though, it's a far cry from the
original specs.

Built w/ Rectangular Stator Magnets; Doesn't Work

Ah, Man.

It's a scam?

[[Moderator SDA comment: no; that is not what we're saying.  Just that it is far more difficult (hence impractical, at least for now) than what we were at first led to believe.]]

I got mine put together and have been hunkering over it like a
kindergarten kid Haha.

[[Moderator SDA comment: how about some photos we can add to the site?]]

Shuffling and twisting the stator around, playing with different
heights on the rotor.  It does just enough spins and jerks when you
wobble the stator around to make a guy believe there's something to
it.  I never got an unassisted spin though.

I didn't do it right...used sets of rectangular magnets instead of
circle magnets on the stator. So I wasn't expecting it to take right
off. But I was hoping to grasp the 'principle' of the thing.

I didn't.

Looking at it and tinkering with it, I still have no idea what there
could be about it that would ever make it work.

Do any of you still think it's a legitimate motor?

[[Moderator SDA comment: Several do, and we welcome you and them to continue using this forum to discuss your progress and probing.]]
