Ken Hegemann's MXLO Magnetic Motor replicationMXLO Magnet Motor Open Sourcing Project

Summary: This open sourcing project sponsored by Pure Energy Systems, based on a design by MXLO, commenced Mar. 3, 2004 and was active for about a month.  At least 14 (8 verified) replications were built, none of which worked, proving that MXLO plans are neither easy nor complete, contrary to what they insinuate on their site, which now redirects to the U.S. government's renewable energy site. On July 10, a hint about shielding was given that was not contained in the plans.

Working (Claims; Not Verified)

  • Thomas Jean of MXLO says he knows of 4 or 5 of these devices that are presently operable (including his).  No evidence has been presented to support this claim.  Declines requests for visits, videos, conference call.
  • Neweid - "It turns but only about 15 rpm sometimes 20 if I adjust the air gap."  Request sent to Nuweid on Mar. 8 to verify and provide additional info.  No response as of Mar. 31.
  • Mystery PES_MXLO person - " there may already be a successful unit that was built by a member of your discussion group. This based on an email that was sent telling me how they have gotten their rotor to spin very quickly for a few seconds" -- Thomas Jean (Mar. 8, 2004)  No such person has come forward as of Mar. 31 to corroborate this statement.

Built to Specs; Not Working

  • tip_alias - Was not able to get it to work, after much effort per the instructions and including direct communication with MXLO.

  • Joe Friday - built to specs.  No rotation.

  • Retrorocket59 - Was not able to get it to work, after much effort per the instructions and including direct communication with MXLO.
  • Chris Horianopoulos, built March 13, 2004; not working.

  • Wayne Jones, full-scale completed March 14, 2004; not working

  • Ronnie Madden, from Scottsville, Kentucky; has built device but it does not work.

  • Ed Anderson - completed to specs March 25, 2004; doesn't work.

Built with Some Variation; Not Working

  • Dann McCreary - Photos & Observations from 1/2-size Build Attempt; Flux Lines Photos

  • Tero Ranta - built March 12; drilled holes for screws to hold magnets. not working.

  • Daniel Stockwell - completed, doesn't work; is willing to let someone else take it and and try and get it to work.

  • John Clingan - built March 18, using rectangular magnets in stator; doesn't work.
  • Dave - June 27, says he wants to try a circular rendition instead of triangular.
