Solar Stirling engine These plans were published in 1965, in the American review "Popular Science". One then could, either to buy the complete kit, or only the parts difficult to manufacture. If you wish to carry out this device, simplest today is to get a virtually identical parabola to you and to adapt an engine coming from Conrad (in this case, do not forget to whitewash the Pyrex cylinder with black painting - without guarantee of operation...;o) (English text - each page makes approximately 150 KB) ___
Industrial applications In this same review, a second article gave a progress report on the state of the art in 1965. It proposed new applications of which some actually were born. article on this subject -, despite everything, some interesting information is
found there. The four following images, extracted from "a future" Planet emission, show a prototype constructed in 1976 on a basis of Ford "Gran Torino" - in order to test the feasibility of this technique, Ford had been driven it by a Stirling engine Philips of 4 cylinders, developing 170 CV to 4000 rpm - in comparison, "Gran Torino" red and white of Starsky and Hutch appears puffing since it has only one V8 gasoline of 152 CV, a rather modest power taking into consideration its 5,7 liter of cubic capacity...
