Template for New Open Sourcing Project
[Title is in <h1>; 3 - 9 words]

A page describing the contents and layout for new open sourcing projects.  The description captures the essence of the project and page purpose.
[description in bold-italics, and indented; 10-35 words; this description is what you put in the description meta tag (those who know a little HTML)]

Updates

After the page is first posted, create an updates page, with link from the main page, and list developments in reverse chronological sequence as they unfold.  Those watching the developments will go to this page to see what the latest additions are on the site.

Introduction
[subheadings in <h2>]

Give a 1 - 3 paragraph overview of the technology.  Should address concisely:

  • what it is
  • what it does (power output, input source)
  • how far along it is in development
  • whether or not there is a working prototype
  • include some kind of visual presentation: a photo or diagram (compress image files for rapid loading)
  • who the main inventor is (photo would be nice)
  • when it was invented
  • what previous devices inspired its creation
  • if there is a patent involved (number, link)
  • whether certain portions are still proprietary
  • whether the contents of the open sourcing are presently adequate to build a complete, working unit

Lists should be presented with bullets or numbered.  Use standard fonts for regular text.  Use bold and italics sparingly, but should be used to help highlight important points.  Run your spell check.

[double line break before new heading]

Description of Device

About the Device

Separate page, with link.  Describe the device in more detail: shape, size, weight, photo, video.  How it works

General Principles Behind the Device

Separate page, with link.  Describe known reasons why the device works, as well as theories.  Include links to related studies and devices.

Instructions of How to Make Device

  • Materials List (separate page, with link; include exact specs, part source and part number)
  • Assembly Instructions (separate page, with link; include diagrams, illustrative photos)
  • Known Issues
  • Credits

Variations

Separate page, with link.  Describe possible modifications and areas of characterization.

Characterization Data

Separate page, with link.  Collect and report data from tests run.  Organize it with the most relevant and important being listed first.

[Short listings do not need extra line space between last line and next heading.]

Discussion Group

Create a discussion group for the project at YahooGroups.com > Start a new group.  Make sure at least one of the PES personnel is included in membership.

Until the project goes public (after verification and at least two replications, generally), the discussion group should be private, and require approval for new memberships to the list.  Label the group pes_projectinitials, making the project initials as brief and intuitive as possible.

Replications

List of replications completed, in progress, with contact information for each person doing a replication, if allowed; and how far along they are.

See also

  • A link to the main inventors most relevant web page should be listed first, if there is one.
  • Listing of websites that are strongly relevant to the topic, with the most relevant and excellent first.  Go from most specific and relevant, to most general.
  • Include links to other PES pages of relevance.
  • Include link to parent directory: e.g. "Other Open Sourcing Projects" [be sure a link is created from the parent index to the new project listing]

Contact
[List at least one contact point.  Make sure you have permission to do so.]

  • Name in Bold
email address Program it to automatically insert the subject line relevant to the page.
in HTML, after the email address add:
?subject=Your open sourcing project at PureEnergySystems.com

phone number: (list time zone in parenthesis, if you know it)
    mailing address:
(try to include at least a city or country)

ADVISORY: With any technology, you take a high risk to invest significant time or money unless (1) independent testing has thoroughly corroborated the technology, (2) the group involved has intellectual rights to the technology, and (3) the group has the ability to make a success of the endeavor.
Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
