Incompatibilities

Click flag to translate

in English in Japanese in Chinese in Korean en Franηais en Espaρol no Portuκs in Italiano auf Deutsch

The ScanGauge II works on most 1996 and newer cars and light trucks originally sold in North America.

Incompatible Vehicles

It will not work on 2005 or newer Lotus Elise.
It will not work on 1996 and 1997 Ford, GM and Dodge trucks with diesel engines.
It will not work on 2004.5 through 2005 Dodge Diesel Trucks.
It will not work on 1996 VW TDI with a Black ECU.
It will not work on 1996 Mercedes.

Partial Compatibility
Some vehicles do not provide all of the possible information.
The following list applies to the vehicle that fall within this category:

About 10% of vehicles provide Fuel Pressure (FPR).
About 50% of vehicles provide Manifold-Absolute-Pressure (MAP).
1997 to 1998 Ford Explorer and Ranger
- No Speed, Distance or Fuel Economy information (MPH, MPG, Miles driven).
Multiple displacement engines will report incorrect
fuel economy and fuel use when some of the cylinders are disabled.
Jeep Liberty with the diesel engine does not report fuel use or trip functions and some of the gauges.

INTERNATIONAL

This is far from comprehensive.  The best way to determine if the gauge is OBDII would be to contact the manufacturer for the make/model/country.

Incompatible Vehicles

AUSTRALIA: It will not work on 2002 Toyota Landcruiser FZJ105R (4.5 petrol six-cylinder).  It is M-OBD, not OBD2 compatible.
AUSTRALIA: Doesn’t work on 2004 diesel 3.2 L Mitsubishi Pajero.

Poor Man's Guide to Wind and Battery Power

ADVISORY: With any technology, you take a high risk to invest significant time or money unless (1) independent testing has thoroughly corroborated the technology, (2) the group involved has intellectual rights to the technology, and (3) the group has the ability to make a success of the endeavor.
Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

-- Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

    "When you're one step ahead
of the crowd you're a genius.
When you're two steps ahead,
you're a crackpot."

-- Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, (Feb. 1998)
