"We love using the Sun Oven when we do outings. -- Sterling Allan
"I'm sure my sister-in-laws will enjoy them as much as we have been enjoying ours for years."
-- Laurel Shea
(Gave Sun Oven for Christmas gift, '03)
"I spent the last couple of days playing with the oven.
"Monday around 3:30 (pretty late) I put some corn on the cob into a casserole and it was cooked within 1-1/2 hours though it never got over 275. Yesterday I made up some banana muffin mix in a round cake pan at 11am and it was done within 25 min, and browned up quite nicely, then at noon I put in some boneless ribs (kind of an oxymoron, isn't it?) with some barbecue sauce and left them in for 5 hours (4 would have been more than sufficient) and they were wonderful. I had to leave the catch unlatched the last couple of hours to keep the temp around 225-250. So far I've seen it get to almost 350. I've found that placement AND angle are everything. So far, so good!"-- Suzie

"I like it a lot. I baked a loaf of bread and then a cake all on the same day with no problems--they turned out fine. The temperature maintained at 325 deg. F on the bread and about 310 on the cake."

| On April 9, 2009, after being a distributor for their company
for 10 years now, I was able to meet with and interview Paul Munsen, CEO
and inventor of the Global Sun Oven. We met in the parking lot of Costco
in Lehi/American Fork, Utah. The Villager, which is priced in the range of $10,000 in the U.S. market, is designed to cook enough food to feed hundreds of people -- a small village -- and sells best in the developing world. The company also has a "family" version, which is much smaller and affordable. We sell it at around $250 -- a little cheaper than most. The company takes the proceeds from sales in the Western world to make the ovens more affordable in the developing world. |
